World Cup Prediction League 2002

I am running a bit of a world cup prediction league between a few friends of mine, and I thought it would be a good idea to open it up to all of you who may want to join. It's really easy to play, just fill in the Excel spreadsheet which I will provide you with, with your score predictions for each game, and then check back here to see the league table online and how your points are adding up!

Phase 1 is now over. But you can still enter. Send in your predictions for the matches in the knockout phases and if there are enough new entrants, I will run a new league alongside the old ones for the knockout phase only.

Rules for Phase 2

Points are scored in the following way:

• 3 points for a correct result prediction (eg team A win, team B win, draw)
• 1 extra point for correctly predicting the number of goals scored by team A
• 1 extra point for correctly predicting the number of goals scored by team B
• 5 bonus points for getting everything right.
• Match scores are taken as the score after 90 minutes (i.e. NOT INCLUDING EXTRA TIME OR PENALTIES)

Current Table (End Of Phase 1)

As phase one is completed, Rich Cross continues to lead the way. Paddy slips off the pace as Cochrane and Marsay rise like Phoenix from the flames. Dave Matthews, an early pace-setter drops away and Benny Boy brings up the rear with a lot of catching up to do!
