Hamsterley Beast

The Hamsterley Beast was a beast indeed!

8 hours saddle time. The first loop headed out into the Raby Estate for some slogging but also some super trails through the woods.

Then two laps of Hamsterley – some of the usual trails and some other. I missed the official cut-off for the last lap by 5 minutes, but carried on and completed it on my own anyway. I still managed to catch up people that had made the cut off.

It was a great event all in aid of Great North Air Ambulance.

Gisburn Forest – Red “8” Trail

The Gisburn Forest red “8” trail is as brilliant as it is brutal. Unforgiving and seemingly never ending. It’s all worth it for “hully gully” – the closest you’ll come to dancing on your bike, or riding down a roller coaster!!

I also did the blue as a warm up – even that was pretty good and tricky in places!!

North Wales – Coed y Brenin

The Coed y Brenin trail centre in North Wales is huge with several red and black options available.

We did the Dragons Back red route which was a fun and challenging route of mostly single track through the forest.
